We both grew up on the East Coast and slowly made our way west across the country -- from New Jersey and Pennsylvania to Ohio, New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado for college and graduate school. We now live in the heart of wine country and call Northern California home.

We married in a small, hilltop ceremony in Boulder, Colorado, surrounded by our immediate family and close family-friends on July 3, 2005:

Our daughter, "Miss Leyba," joined the Spritzer Leyba famliy in January of 2008. We adore being parents and are having the time of our lives.

David is an Electrical Engineer and works as a R&D Software Engineer. Carrie is an Environmental Scientist who is currently working 24-7 as a stay-at-home-mom.

We keep active and have many hobbies. We both love being out of doors and often go for runs, hikes, and bike rides. We love camping and have camped-out on road-trips across America. We are avid readers and love to cook. We both practice ashtanga yoga.

Crafts and art projects also fill up our free time. David creates fine silver works and jewelry pieces. Carrie quilts, embroiders, knits, beads, takes digital photographs, and is learning ceramics.

We are environmentalists and, evidently, ecosexuals. To minimize our ecological footprint, we: take books out of the library, bike/walk around town, bring our own to-go containers when eating out (to avoid those styrofoam ones!), own just one car, eat primarily organic produce from local farmers, wash and reuse all plastic containers and bags, use natural cleaning and beauty products, use cloth grocery bags (instead of disposable ones) and cloth napkins (instead of paper ones). We buy recycled (and recyclable) toothbrushes, recycled aluminum foil, recycled paper products, recycled toilet paper, compact fluorescent light bulbs, rechargeable batteries, clothes secondhand, etc. In the future, we intend to own a hybrid or low-emissions vehicle and build an eco-groovy house out of sustainable and natural materials.

Obviously, we love computers and the internet, especially as a means to connect with friends and family around the world. We also like watching movies, taking trips to the beach and down to San Francisco, exploring Sonoma and Napa Counties, and spending time with family and friends.
